Pure Clan beat Satan's Circus by three-quarters of a length Saturday in the $750,000 American Oaks at Hollywood Park. Ridden by Julien Leparoux, Pure Clan ran 1 1-8 miles on the turf course in 2:00.50. She paid $7, $4 and $3.40 and earned $450,000 to increase her earnings to $1,002,416. Satan's Circus returned $12.60 and $10, and Clearly Foxy paid $9.80 to show.



Badlands Nitro wins Art Rooney Pace (AP)
Badlands Nitro became harness racing's newest millionaire Saturday night, winning the $538,270 final of Yonkers Raceway's Art Rooney Pace. With Brian Sears driving for co-owner/trainer George Teague, Badlands Nitro outkicked his main rival, Santanna Blue Chip en route to a half-length. The winner finished in 1:52 4-5 to top the eight 3-year-old colts.
Presious Passion wins United Nations Stakes (AP)
Presious Passion led wire-to-wire in the $750,000 United Nations Stakes at Monmouth Park on Saturday, holding off Strike A Deal by a neck. Trained by Mary Hartmann and ridden by Eddie Castro, the 5-year-old gelding covered 1 3-8 miles on the yielding turf course in 2:13 4-5, just a second off the course record.
Screen Your Friend wins Bashford Manor (AP)
Screen Your Friend beat Lyin' Heart by 1 lengths Saturday in the $150,000 Bashford Manor Stakes for 2-year-olds at Churchill Downs. Trained by Bernie Flint and ridden by Calvin Borel, Screen Your Friend gave Borel his second victory in the Bashford Manor. Borel also won in 2000 aboard Duality. Screen Your Friend ran six furlongs in 1:10.84 over the fast track and paid $38, $13 and $4.80.

Indian Blessing, the champion 2-year-old filly last season, ended a two-race losing streak with a dominant victory Saturday in the $250,000 Prioress Stakes at Belmont Park. John Velazquez was aboard for the first time as Indian Blessing powered to a 5-length win in the mud over By the Light. "It was awesome," Velazquez said.

Horse owners Ken and Sarah Ramsey are trying to break their own record for most winners in a Churchill Downs spring meet before the track closes for the season on Sunday. The Ramseys have 19 winners through the first 49 days of the 52-day meet. The record for victories at a spring meet of 57 days or fewer is 21, established by the Ramseys in 2006.
